Francette Gouws
After practising as an attorney for a little over a year, Francette Gouws was called to the Bar in 2019. She has a predominantly General Commercial Litigation practice focusing on foreclosures, landlord and tenant disputes as well as contractual disputes. She also practises employment law and family law.
Francette completed her undergraduate studies in 2013 and her LLM in International Law (with a specialization in International Humanitarian Law) in 2015. During her postgraduate studies she was employed as an academic associate at the University of Pretoria.
She is a co-author of contributions to textbooks including Environmental Law and Local Government in South Africa (2021 2nd Ed.) and Introduction to Legal Pluralism in South Africa (2022 6th Ed.).
She is a passionate runner (with a marathon best of 3:01), ardent traveler and music enthusiast, and she has a keen interest in history.
